About CGCA-02
The second edition of the International Conference on Ceramics and Geomaterials in Central Africa (CGCA-02) will be held in Yaoundé (Cameroon) from 08 to 11 April 2025. The theme of CGCA-02 is Ceramics, Composites and Geomaterials in line with climate change, energy transition and sustainability issues. It is organised by the Institute of Research on Ceramics (IRCER, CNRS and the University of Limoges), the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Yaounde I (Yaounde, Cameroon) and the MIPROMALO research centre (Yaounde, Cameroon) and takes place under the auspices of the Composites and Advanced Ceramic Society (CACerS). It is part of the major objectives of the JRP GRAAL-EMC2 project (CNRS-Africa), regarding the strengthening of scientific collaborations in Sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of CGCA-02 is to contribute to the vulgarisation of scientific results in the field of geomaterials, ceramics and composites. It is a platform for exchange and the creation of Sout-Soth and North-South partnerships. This conference will therefore be an opportunity to highlight the main responses that can provide sustainable and innovative ceramic solutions to some societal challenges. CGCA-02 will feature plenary and invited lectures, oral presentations and a poster session. The eight themes covered by CGCA-02 are listed below:
ST1 – Archeometry and Ceramology
ST2 – Mineral Prospections: raw materials and valorization
ST3 – Ceramic and Geomaterials Processing
ST4 – Porous and refractory Ceramics
ST5 – Composite and bio-based materials
ST6 – Waste valorization, Recycling and Environmentally Friendly Materials
ST7 – Modelling and Artificial intelligence for materials science
ST8 – Climate Change, Green Energy and Low Carbon Materials
Recognitions (engagement) and awards (selection by a jury) will be attributed during this conference. Conference language: English, except for plenary and invited talk (choice between French and English) Estimated number of participants: > 200
