About CGCA-03

The third edition of the International Conference on Ceramics and Geomaterials in Central Africa (CGCA-03) will be held in Kintélé (Republic of the Congo) from 27 to 30 April 2027. The theme of CGCA-03 is ……….to be confirmed………. It is organised by Denis SASSOU N’GUESSO University (Kintélé, Republic of the Congo), the Institute for Research on Ceramics (IRCER, CNRS and the University of Limoges, France), the Faculty of Science of the University of Yaoundé I (Yaoundé, Cameroon) and the MIPROMALO research centre (Yaoundé, Cameroon), and is taking place under the auspices of the Composites and Advanced Ceramic Society (CACerS). It forms part of the key objectives of the JRP GRAAL-EMC2 project (CNRS-Africa), within the framework of enhanced scientific collaboration in sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of CGCA-03 is to contribute to the dissemination of scientific findings in the fields of geomaterials, ceramics and composites. It serves as a platform for exchange and the creation of South-South and North-South partnerships. This conference will therefore provide an opportunity to highlight the key approaches that can offer sustainable and innovative solutions to certain societal challenges. CGCA-03 will feature plenary and invited lectures, oral presentations and a poster session. The nine themes covered by CGCA-03 are listed below:

ST1 – Archeometry, ceramology and art (painting, pottery, architecture and scuplture)

ST2 – Geotechnics: soil improvement and management for sustainable structures

ST3 – Mineral prospections: raw materials and valorization

ST4 – Ceramic and Geomaterials processing

ST5 – Porous and refractory Ceramics

ST6 – Composite materials and bio-based materials

ST7 – Waste valorization, recycling and environmentally friendly materials

ST8 – Modelling and simulation for the prediction f properties and design of materials of the future

ST9 – Materials for Energy and sustainable digitalization

Recognitions (engagement) and awards (selection by a jury) will be attributed during this conference.
